This document has been developed to provide training and guidance to be able to understand what are human rights, what human rights mean for people’s lives, as well as the actions that can be taken by individuals and groups to respect and promote human rights.

The report reviews the history of women’s rights reforms in Afghanistan, assesses donor efforts to empower women since 2001, analyzes the security situation and its impact on women, and details women’s concerns about proposed reconciliation efforts. It concludes with recommendations for policymakers.

In all civilized nations, attempts are made to define and buttress human rights. The core of the concept is the same everywhere: Human rights are the rights that one has simply because one is human. They are universal and equal. The following pubilcation gives an overview of Human Rights across the globe.
